Girls In STEM took place on April 6th at The University of Texas at Austin and it was a huge success; 576 4th-8th grade girls from all over the state registered to attend! Throughout the day girls attended hands-on workshops led by 95 presenters/co-presenters, and over 150 volunteers helped the day of the conference. An especially big thank you to the Women's Professional Development Network (WPDN) of Applied Materials. Each year the WPDN helps with the planning and logistics of the conference as well as presenting a workshop for the girls. Thank you Rebecca, Camilla, Pam, Tara, Sarah, Deb, Crystal, Charlise, Jennifer, Charlene and Louis for all of the hours dedicated to making this a great event for girls!
