Charles Schwab Volunteer Week took place the week of June 19th and was a whirlwind of fun and productivity! On May 20th, a group of Schwab employees volunteered their time at their offices to make over 300 name tags for all of our Summer Camps "To Go" across Texas and the country. Name tags are key for getting girls connected every week at camp- they help break the ice and make girls feel comfortable making new friends. Thank you for laminating, cutting, hole punching and tying lots of ribbon!

On May 21st, over 20 eager volunteers joined us at the Girlstart STEM Center for a FULL day of summer camp preparation. Every year, Girlstart's building needs some updating so our summer campers have an exciting and welcoming environment to walk into and this group was up for the challenge! The agenda for the day: painting, gardening, entering surveys, removing fence posts, hanging curtains and filling piles of bean bags. Luckily for us, they got right to work crossing items of the to-do list, making our building an even friendlier space for summer camp. We are now ready for the first group of campers to show up on June 9th for a week of Animal World fun!
